How to improve your chances of avoiding the common cold and flu

October is one of our favorite seasons. Pumpkin spice lattes, fall fashion, Halloween, apple picking - what’s not to love? But this time of year also kicks off cold and flu season. An annual vaccine can help, but there’s also a handful of ways to prevent getting sick. We compiled a list of tips on how to improve your chances of avoiding both the common cold and flu.

IV Therapy

Vitamin IV therapy sends vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, and other essential nutrients into your bloodstream so your body can rapidly absorb them. Whether you’re suffering from sleep deprivation, work-related burnout, a winter cold, or even a hangover, BeaYOUtiful Health and Wellness has an extensive menu of vitamin IV cocktails to suit your needs.

We offer a vitamin cocktail blended specifically for fighting off winter colds and the flu. This solution contains an immune-boosting blend of electrolytes, vitamins, and minerals designed to keep your immune system in tiptop shape.

Ginger

Slice some fresh ginger and mix with hot water, a slice of fresh lemon, a pinch of cinnamon, one clove and a star anise. Drink this often throughout the day to soothe inflammation and boost your immune system.

Sleep & Exercise

Inadequate sleep may increase your risk of getting sick. To build your immunity, sleep at least 7 to 9 hours per night. Also, maintain a regular physical activity routine — at least 30 minutes, three times a week.

Wash your hands

Because the flu virus can live on hard surfaces, get into a habit of regularly washing your hands. This is especially important before preparing food and eating - and after using the bathroom.

If you’re considering getting your COVID-19 vaccination, the CDC says the flu and COVID-19 vaccines can be taken at the same time.
